Injury Free Coalition for Kids - Atlanta awarded two AmeriCorps VISTA's

Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Atlanta has been awarded two AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers to support inner city Injury Prevention Outreach Programs serving children, youth the Hispanic Population. AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) a federally funded program offers the benefit of AmeriCorps VISTA manpower to organizations who develop AmeriCorps VISTA projects and host VISTA members at their organization an opportunity to expand the organization’s capacity to solve community problems.

The two assigned VISTA’s will help Injury Free Coalition for Kids – Atlanta in strengthening it’s current injury prevention programs targeted to children, youth, and the Hispanic community. Donna Childress the 1st Injury Free-Atlanta VISTA looks forward to contributing to the sustainability of Injury Free-Atlanta and strengthening our children and youth outreach efforts. We are currently recruiting for an AmeriCorps VISTA for our Injury Free – Atlanta Hispanic Outreach Program to begin May 2002 deadline for applications will be Febuary 15, 2002 contact Ana Everett – Injury Prevention Coordinator @ 404-616-1403 for more information.
