Community Programs and Events

Program/Event Details:
In an effort to prioritize the safety of the younger population, the department extends its reach to children through workshops on Kids' Safety. These sessions are designed to educate children about the significance of wearing helmets to prevent serious head injuries and broken bones, instilling habits of safety and responsibility from an early age.

Furthermore, the department addresses broader safety concerns in the community, offering workshops on Pedestrian Safety and Home Safety. By interacting one-on-one with individuals of all ages, the team strives to create a comprehensive understanding of safety measures that can be implemented in daily life.

In times of emergency, the "Stop the Bleed" initiative takes center stage. The department educates community members on basic bleeding control techniques, empowering them to respond effectively in critical situations. Through these initiatives, Jamaica Hospital's Injury and Trauma Department actively contributes to the well-being of the community, fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and proactive prevention.
