Program/Event Details:
Held event at Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County a community-based, family-centered, human services agency serving Johnson County, Iowa, since 1973. They operate two community centers in Iowa City and provide outreach and programming to an additional five targeted neighborhoods and a dozen schools.
We presented topics on bike safety, child passenger safety, safe sleep, firearm safety and Stop the Bleed program to parents of children that attend the center. A free bike helmet was fitted and given to each child in attendance. Parents received a swaddle, pacifier, duck water temperature and a cable lock for a firearm.
We had educational materials transcribed to the Arabic language and an interpreter was in attendance to help with communication. 30 parents attended along with 50+ children.
