Program/Event Details:
In light of recent events, an email from Northwell Hospital about **National Injury Prevention Day on November 18th** struck a particularly meaningful chord. Inspired by its urgency, we’re launching a schoolwide initiative to spotlight the life-threatening choices some of our students face, including subway surfing, helmet safety, e-bike awareness, and air guns. These critical issues have a direct impact on their safety and well-being.
It’s important to note that **injury and trauma are the leading causes of hospitalization and death among children, adolescents, teens, and college students.** To amplify this message, we’ve embraced the theme: **"Protect. Prioritize. Prosper. Empower Your Inner Tiger."**
This Monday, students will receive limited-edition t-shirts during PRIME time, symbolizing their commitment to safety and awareness. Throughout the day, discussion prompts and warm-up activities will foster meaningful dialogue about these critical issues.
Additionally, **NYPD Youth Safety Officers** will visit select classes to deliver intimate presentations aimed at sparking peer-to-peer discussions across the school. Together, we hope to create a ripple effect of awareness and empowerment that resonates throughout our community.
