Program/Event Details:
Riley Hospital for Children Injury Prevention hosted a "Safety Fair" to raise awareness for National Injury Prevention Day. The Riley Injury Prevention team was joined by Riley Maternity Services, Riley Emergent Department, and the Riley Safety Store - providing education to all who attended. During this event, hospital visitors and team members learned educational information and received resources for topics on: Home Safety Child Passenger Safety Safe Sleep Medication Storage Helmet Use Gun Storage
Resources distributed to families who indicated need during the event included: 20 Medication Lockboxes, approximately 30 gun cable locks, and multiple home outlet protective covers.
An anonymous survey was taken during the event, which helped provide the Riley Injury Prevention team with updated point-of-contact data on population needs and education requests.
