Program/Event Details:
Car Seat Clinic (appointment only) at Fire Station #83, 7301 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis, IN.
Number of people: 7 people worked at the car seat clinic, 5 from Riley Hospital and 2 from Wayne Township; Number of lives touched: 10 pregnant women or children see and nine new car seats provided, 1 child did not need replacement car seat but mom was educated on how to use the car seat correctly; Hours: 1 pm - 5 pm; Equipment distributed: 9 car seats (6 rear facing only seats, 2 forward facing seat with harness and 1 convertible car seat); Partnerships: New partnership between Riley child passenger safety technicians and Wayne Township Fire station #83 crew and staff members was developed. We were able to hold the car seat clinic in the heated bays of the fire station. The bays were set up so we could have parents pull in on one end and drive out the other end, so backing up did not have to take place, making the area much safer for children.
