Injury Free Miami is a countywide child injury prevention program at the Holtz Children's Hospital /University of Miami funded by The Children's Trust that aims to reduce child injury through standardized injury prevention education. This program provides service providers and families in Miami Dade County with multilingual interactive training on child safety in the home, car, and Water. Injury Free Miami's mission is to prevent unintentional injuries and fatalities of children and make our communities safer for children in a manner that respects Miami's various cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles by empowering this diverse population through outreach, education, and research. This prevention program utilizes proven strategies and established curricula and is provided in three languages. Injury Prevention Day: The dedicated staff utilizes the Injury Free Miami mobile unit to provide interactive education and training about child safety practices in the home, Water, and on wheels in a simulated home environment. 50 -participants attended the home safety training on board the mobile during the week leading to NIPD day Distributed 20-gun locks to participants - Promotes proper use and storage of devices. 30 Home safety kits provided to participants.
