Program/Event Details:
On Monday, November 18, monuments, buildings, bridges, and homes across the country will shine green to raise awareness about the burden of injuries and violence, the number one killer of Americans 1-44 years old. This evening, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s will join in the effort to help shine a light on the importance of injury prevention efforts by lighting up green. For the last five years, November 18th has been celebrated with landmarks across the country bathed in green light, including local attractions such as the George V. Voinovich Bridge and the Terminal Tower. As a leader in injury prevention with the area’s Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, UH Rainbow is committed to raising awareness about this issue and educating the community about how they can prevent unintentional injuries.
UH Rainbow team members will see light trusses already installed to prepare for the evening’s lighting. Those here tonight may go outside of Horvitz tower and see the two columns of light projected (away from patient rooms) between dusk and 11:25pm. The media has been invited to capture images and video and to tell our community more about the ways the UH Rainbow Injury Prevention Center actively conducts education and outreach on injury prevention topics every day of the year. The media will also be encouraged to tell their viewers how UH Rainbow’s Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and UH CMC’s Level 1 Adult Trauma Center are ready 24/7/365 to provide the highest level of care for our region’s most seriously injured victims.
Dates and Times:
