Program/Event Details:
For the fifth year in a row, the Injury Free Coalition for Kids (IFCK) and its growing list of partners will join forces for National Injury Prevention Day (NIPD), which is a day designed to raise awareness about the burden of injury and violence and highlight the need for change. While unintentional and intentional injuries are a leading cause of hospitalization and death for people ages 1 to 44 years old, they are preventable. This November, the Maryland Core State Injury Prevention Program will join the movement by hosting an informational webinar on Friday, November 15, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. designed to raise awareness and empower communities to stop injuries and violence. This webinar will highlight various Maryland-based injury prevention efforts from the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the University of Maryland - R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, and the Partnership for a Safer Maryland. It will also promote NIPD activities hosted by IFCK and their national partners such as the Safe States Alliance, American Trauma Society (ATS), and the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR). Join us to learn how you can get involved in National Injury Prevention Day this year! Register here for the webinar.
