Research, Programs, and Policy

Program/Event Details:
Injury Free Cincinnati will be partnering with our lead agency's Residential Behavioral Health Services Department to provide safe gun and medication storage education to all parents/caregivers during discharge procedures. Families identified as high-risk, and low-income will also receive a safe storage device. Resource needs will be determined via a questionnaire capturing families' current storage behaviors and ability to purchase a safe storage device. All families that completed a questionnaire during discharge will be contacted 3 to 5 days after discharge and administered a questionnaire to determine changes in safe storage behaviors after receiving education and capture increased use of storage safety devices.
