Program/Event Details:
MUSC's Turning the Tide Violence Intervention Program (TTVIP) just launched in August 2021. This new program follows the hospital-based violence intervention program model and provides wraparound services to violently injured patients across MUSC Health's Level 1 adult trauma center and MUSC Children's Health's Level 1 pediatric trauma center in Charleston, SC. On National Injury Prevention Day 2021, our program staff will be rounding at MUSC Shawn Jenkin's Children's Hospital and handing out gun locks to patients and families. Our goal is to normalize conversations about firearm safety in our community and increase awareness about the new program's services.
