Shining a Green Light

Program/Event Details:
On Monday, November 18th, the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center will participate in National Injury Prevention Day by taking part in the "Shining a Green Light" initiative. This event is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of injury prevention and promoting safe practices within our community.

To honor this important cause, the Aquatic Center will illuminate its facilities with green lighting on its 27-meter-high dive tower, symbolizing the commitment to creating a safer environment for swimmers, athletes, and visitors. The green light serves as a powerful reminder of the collective effort needed to reduce the risk of injury and promote safety across all levels of activity.

In addition to the lighting display, the Aquatic Center will engage with its community through educational outreach, providing information on water safety, injury prevention strategies, and best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for swimmers, divers, and community neighbors.

By participating in "Shining a Green Light," the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center reaffirms its commitment to injury prevention and community wellness, joining the national effort to reduce injuries and promote a culture of safety.
