Director, Arkansas Children's Hospital Community Outreach Department, Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Little Rock
Scott Allen has been with Arkansas Children's Hospital since 1991, working initially in the Public Relations Department where he helped to expand the hospital's presence in communities and schools throughout Arkansas. With an emphasis on promoting health education for children and families, Scott worked to establish the Community Outreach Department and has served as it's director since 1997. The department now sees more than 50,000 children each year through events and presentations focusing on child safety, wellness and prevention. The Outreach Department programs include classroom presentations on health and safety, the Fire Safety House, the Child Passenger Safety program, a Speakers Bureau, and the Partners in Education Program. Scott oversees the IFCK hospital-based Injury Prevention Education component at Arkansas Children's Hospital. He is a NHTSA certified Child Passenger Safety Technician as well as a member of the Arkansas SAFE KIDS Coalition.
