Lead Coordinator for Injury Prevention Programs, Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Pittsburgh (Children's)

Marie is the Lead Coordinator for the Injury Prevention Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In this role, she educates families throughout the community and in the hospital. She teaches youth and adults ways to stay safe, including at home and on roadways. Additionally, she provides tools to keep children safe including bicycle helmets and home safety locks. She is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor and the County Coordinator for Safe Kids Allegheny County. Prior to this role, she served at the Allegheny County Health Department for five years in the Chronic Disease Prevention program. There, she oversaw the Safe and Healthy Communities initiative and the Live Well Allegheny campaign. Both initiatives promote ways for people across the lifespan to live safely and increase healthy lifestyle. Marie graduated in 2014 from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, with her Master’s degree in Public Health and Certificate in Program Evaluation. She graduated from Marquette University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Health Studies.
