The top four causes of childhood injury requiring hospital admission in the Milwaukee area are falls, poisoning, motor vehicle crashes as a pedestrian and motor vehicle crashes as an occupant. In addition, Children’s Wisconsin data shows the central city zip code areas have the highest inpatient rates due to injuries, and injuries in these areas account for 55 percent of all injuries in the city of Milwaukee.

The Injury Free Coalition for Kids(IFCK)in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is comprised of Children's Hospital of WI and Milwaukee based community partners working together to prevent childhood injuries in Milwaukee neighborhoods.
