January 1, 1900 - Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Atlanta
Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Atlanta of the Grady Health System is a proud national partner of the 2005 Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign. “With more than 8.4 million uninsured children in the United States, this effort to enroll eligible children in Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and inform parents about these available health care coverage programs and is more urgent than ever before,” said Ana Everett, MPA Injury Free Coalition for Kids Program Coordinator.
Covering Kids & Families has formed a partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS). MLS teams across the country will declare a game “Children’s Health Care Coverage Day,” and promote the 1(877) KIDS-NOW toll-free number on Jumbotrons and in programs and other materials distributed at the game.
In addition, thousands of outreach and enrollment events will be taking place in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with more concentrated efforts in six major U.S. cities: Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Philadelphia.
You can get involved by participating in events that are planned, by organizing an event of your own, or by distributing free information to parents. Visit www.coveringkidsandfamilies.org/communications to learn more about what you can do in your community and to download and order free materials.
“We are very excited about this year’s Back-to-School Campaign and thrilled to be joined by our national partners,” said Sarah Shuptrine, director of Covering Kids & Families. “Our national partners significantly enhance our ability to reach and inform more families about the availability of coverage through Medicaid and SCHIP.”
