The Yale New Haven Hospital Center for Injury and Violence Prevention offers a comprehensive child passenger safety (CPS) program both within the hospital and community throughout the state. Education is provided to staff and families, and installation assistance appointments are offered regularly.

For our staff, we offer both certification training as well as basic CPS awareness and harnessing. The trained staff then takes their knowledge to train other staff and parents/caregivers.

Currently, fitting station appointments are offered twice monthly at both New Haven and Bridgeport Campuses.

The CPS program also works to support all CT Department of Transportation (DOT) approved fitting stations throughout the state by sending CPS instructors to their fitting stations or events and administering a supply grant that provides car seats and fitting station tools and supplies. Additionally, the program runs DOT continuing education (CEU) workshops for technicians in the state to attain their CEU recertification requirements.
