Mobile Safety Street is a hands-on, educational experience designed to educate all members of our community how to recognize and prevent common safety hazards that could lead to injuries.
Mobile Safety Street consists of a custom-designed bright yellow school bus and safety education trailer. The outside of the safety education trailer is a 20 foot by 30 foot two third scale model of an actual street with houses and shops, hospitals and fire stations, crosswalks and traffic lights, cars backing out of driveways, downed power lines, barking dogs and shady characters. The inside of the trailer is a realistic home environment highlighting key places where safety issues abound: stairs, the bathtub, stove, cabinets with poisons and medicines at child level, storage of firearms, etc.
